Naan Avan Illai 2 - A review
Remakes seems to be the trend in Tamil film industry. But for the first time, a movie that hit the screen a couple of years ago has managed to see its sequel.
This movie is based on the concept of cheating girls and robbing the money that they have.In the last version we had 5 or 6 girls. In this part we have 5 girls. And Sangeetha plays a very decent role. The whole movie was shot in abroad it seems. Jeevan cheats the desi girls in abroad but this time he does not get caught. The success of ‘Naan Avan Illai’ has prompted the trio- producer Hitesh Jhabak, director Selva and actor Jeevan- to make a sequel to it. This time they have travelled to foreign land where the protagonist continues what he was doing in Tamil Nadu.
A movie sans any logic, 'Naan Avan Illai-II' is an entertainer all the way. The lead player successfully cons rich girls and escapes with booty in alien country. Jeevan does what he did well in the first part. This time too he has five girls to give him company.

With right mix of glamour and oomph factor, the film would be adored by the front-benchers. Imman has set to tunes six songs with one comprising select lyrics from Vaali's songs. There is nothing much to say about the story, this is just the magic of the director who is dare enough to take the similar movie without a change. See you gotta have the funny attitude to see this movie and of course guys will enjoy this than girls since it is a mixture of great fun, great glamour, great dialogs.
Director Selva has penned the script in such a way that it unfolds at quick pace. But it lacks the necessary punch. Majority of the scenes are predictable and hangover of the first part is visible. Though the story unfolds at good pace, it lacks conviction.
Jeevan plays his part well, while all the five girls hog enough screen space. A fun-filled rode for those who love commercial entertainers. ‘Naan Avan Illai II’ is the right destination if you are ready to forget about logic.
Nan Avan Illai - Magic sans logic
Paa - A small review..
AB Corporation Ltd. presents PAA, a sensitive story about the relationship between a father and son who is suffering from Progeria. Produced by Amitabh Bachchan Corporation & Sunil Manchanda, PAA is distributed by Big Pictures.
This bright and cheerful family entertainer has been directed by R. Balakrishnan a.k.a. Balki of CHEENI KUM fame. Other than the venerable Amitabh Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan, PAA also stars Vidya Balan and Paresh Rawal. The music scored by the maestro Illyaraja, the first Asian composer to score a symphony the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, is surely something to look forward to. The film has lyrics by Swanand Kirkire with cinematographer PC Sreeram.
Paa is a movie about a ‘father-son’ relationship. The movie pulls in some dry humor and includes director’s personal views on issues from politics to motherhood. The movie remains lighthearted and touches the heart subtly to a rather deeper level.
The movie will let you get involved in the journey of Auro and a father-son relationship. It is a rather simple story about relationships, told in a very subte and heart touching manner.
YET ANOTHER wonder from Big B, Paa is a treat to watch. Touching on a very different subject line, Amitabh Bachchan as Auro is unbelievably outstanding. The movie clearly establishes how Indian film industry is trying to push the boundaries to a different level. Paa is a brilliant movie with some of the outstanding performances of the year. With a phenomenal storyline, Paa not only touches the heart of the movie buffs but also brings in few tears to even the hardest of hearts.
This is a movie worth watching!!
